Don't let that grease go down the kitchen sink! Garland has two recycling locations to drop off your used cooking oils and grease. The Water Utilities department donates the used grease and oil to Dallas Water Utilities. It is converted into clean burning bio-fuel that powers a wastewater treatment plant in Dallas. Everyone wins! Help Garland Cease the Grease by following these simple steps:
When your container of grease and oil is full, take it to one of the drop-off locations listed:
1426 Commerce Street
Garland, TX 75040
Hours
Monday to Friday
8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday
8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Note: The construction activity at this site does not affect the recycling/oil/grease drop off areas.
3175 Elm Grove Road
Rowlett, TX 75089
Hours
Monday to Friday
7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Saturday
7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
You can drop off containers at any regional Cease the Grease station. View a list of other drop-off or collection sites across the Metroplex.
Thank you for recycling! Disposing of used cooking oil down the drain leads to costly plumbing repairs. It is a leading cause of sanitary sewer overflows, clogs and stoppages.
If you are part of a Garland resident organization, such as a neighborhood watch group, community group or Homeowner’s Association, and are interested in having a Cease the Grease representative available at your next event, just let us know.
